Refresh Your Skin This Spring With These MediSpa Treatments

04 Mar 2019 Refresh Your Skin This Spring With These MediSpa Treatments

Spring is here, making it the perfect time to refresh and renew your skin after a long, harsh winter. The winter months can be brutal to your skin, leaving it dry, dull and lifeless. However, medispa treatments, such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and injectables, all available at Neaman MediSpa, can rejuvenate your face and give your skin a fresh new look.

Spring Clean Your Complexion With Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are an excellent way to strip away the damaged outer layers of skin to reveal a healthy glowing complexion with improved texture, tone, and pigmentation. Regardless of how diligent you were in applying moisturizer this past winter, your skin probably still suffered. The cooler dryer air doesn’t exactly do your skin any favors, often causing dryness, blotchiness, and even breakouts. Chemical peels can be customized to meet your specific needs, and they range in strength from light to deep. The chemical solution that is applied to your skin during treatment, penetrates and clean outs pores to encourage new cell turnover. A springtime chemical peel will get your skin ready for the upcoming summer months, so you can worry about having fun and not skin maintenance.

“Sand” Away Dead Winter Skin With Microdermabrasion

If you’re looking for a non-invasive resurfacing treatment that doesn’t use chemicals, microdermabrasion is it. Microdermabrasion exfoliates the top surface layer and then suctions out debris and impurities from your pores. During winter, dead skin can cause a backup of impurities leaving your skin looking anything but vibrant. By cleaning out your pores, your skin can more easily absorb moisturizer and serums helping to re-nourish and stimulate collagen growth.

Smooth Out Skin With Injectable Fillers

Winter can’t be explicitly blamed for causing signs of aging, but it is responsible for making those hollows and folds a little more noticeable. If you’re in need of volume to help perk up your appearance, injectables available at Neaman MediSpa can help. Hyaluronic acid-based fillers, such as Juvederm and Restylane, will help to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles by hydrating your skin and restoring fullness to your face giving you a smoother, younger-looking complexion just in time for the spring and summer months.

Spring Clean Your Skin At Neaman MediSpa

Freshen up your skincare routine by adding a rejuvenating medispa treatment to help put life back into your skin. It’s time to shed the winter layers and let your skin glow this spring. Contact Neaman MediSpa, voted #1 medispa of Mid-Valley, at 844-338-5445 to schedule your personal skincare consultation.

Non-Invasive Skin Treatments for Face and Body

13 Feb 2018 Non-Invasive Skin Treatments for Face and Body

Your skin is your largest organ, and Neaman MediSpa and Neaman Plastic Surgery specialize in skin tightening procedures for both the face and body. From wrinkles to loose skin or pockets of fat, there are numerous factors that can cause the skin to be less tight than it used to be. Age, weight loss or gain, sun damage, and genetics all play a role. Since your skin is the first thing people notice about you (and often what you first notice about yourself!), keeping it looking healthy, taut, and toned can be a great boost to your confidence and self-esteem.

Exilis Elite: A Full Body Experience

During a consultation, your Neaman MediSpa team will discuss the state of your skin, your goals, and what procedures are the best fit for you. Body skin tightening is a popular and non-invasive procedure that tackles stubborn fat. When diet and exercise aren’t delivering the results you want, Exilis Elite might be the FDA-approved procedure for you. There’s no downtime and the skin is painlessly tightened and smoothed with radiofrequency and ultrasound waves.

The skin is heated up to the specifically required degree to melt away targeted fat while tightening the skin. In just thirty minutes, fat cells are broken up and will be flushed out of the body naturally via the lymphatic system. Various tip sizes are used to customize your results. Some patients liken the experience to a hot stone massage.

Complementary Facial Treatments

Skin tightening for the face can be approached in various ways, including injectables and fillers like Botox, Dysport, and other dermal fillers. Depending on the filler, patients may be able to enjoy fewer fine lines and wrinkles by temporarily freezing muscles and plumping up areas of the face that are hollow or saggy. Cheeks, the eye trough, and around the lips are all common areas where fillers can be a great help.

There are also MediSpa treatments for the entire face, such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and laser treatments. The earlier you start taking care of your skin, the faster and better the results will be. However, it’s never too late to pamper yourself and nourish your skin. From sun damage to stress and age, our skin is a tough organ that could use a little extra care. If you’re interested in learning more about body and face skin tightening in the Salem and surrounding areas, contact Neaman MediSpa at 844-338-5445 for a consultation and to learn more about available services.

Fighting Acne Scars With A One-Two Punch

25 Jan 2018 Fighting Acne Scars With A One-Two Punch

There is always a point in which people are fed up with dealing with the embarrassing scars that can remain long after your acne has cleared up. There are several options available to treat and fade acne scars. Finding the right one can be overwhelming with so many different treatments out there—it can be challenging to know which one will be right for your specific type of acne scarring.

Acne is a frustrating skin condition that affects a large portion of society; however, luckily there is fantastic help at Neaman MediSpa.

Fighting Acne Scarring With Infini

Infini, one of the most popular acne scarring treatments, is a microneedling technique that uses radio frequency to penetrate the skin. Through this process, the skin is forced to regenerate and heal itself. It’s a 2-in-1 treatment of sorts. The radio frequency heat provides the benefit of skin tightening, while the microneedling treatment actually remodels the skin to improve the overall tone and texture. In turn, the appearance of acne scarring is reduced tremendously.

Active acne is also reduced, as the heat of the radio frequency helps to destroy the enlarged sebaceous glands that lead to serious breakouts. Whether you’ve suffered from acne in the past or are currently suffering from acne, Infini is a wonderful treatment option.

Infini Microneedling is a procedure that requires a bit of local anesthetic, which is applied topically. With that, the level of discomfort patients feel is minimal. It is most often recommended to do three treatments, however, in some cases, one treatment may provide the result you desire.

Chemical Peels For Acne Scarring

As you may know, MediSpas offer chemical peels, and they are an excellent way to fade acne scars. Chemical peels work by exfoliating or peeling the top layers of skin away and eventually getting off the raised layers of the scar closer to the base. As you get closer to the base, the scar looks smoother and will begin to fade away.

Most often, chemical peels require very little downtime and compared to other treatments, don’t require a lot of expense. Chemical peels do need a certain level of commitment because most of the time it will take a series of chemical peels to get rid of all the acne scars. If you are someone who can designate a longer period of downtime after a chemical peel, you may consider getting a deep peel, which will most assuredly speed up the process quite a bit.

Microdermabrasion To Fight Acne Scars

Microdermabrasion is a treatment that works similarly to chemical peels, but it is a slower process unless a more aggressive approach is taken. The top layer of skin is actually exfoliated off leaving a glowing look on the skin. Removing the top layer of the skin also removes the raised portion of the scar.

Again, a series of the microdermabrasion needs to be committed to. They usually work slower than chemical peels unless the person agrees to a more aggressive approach.

Treat Yourself Like A Celebrity With “The Hollywood Peel”

28 Nov 2017 Treat Yourself Like A Celebrity With “The Hollywood Peel”
Posted at 05:00h in Hollywood Laser Peel 0 Likes

The Spectra Laser Peel, also known as, “The Hollywood Peel,” utilizes both mechanical and thermal exfoliation to remove a layer of tissue from the skin. It reduces sebum by disrupting its production in the sebaceous gland. Sebum is what clogs the pores and causes breakouts. For those of us who have endured severe acne, the action of the laser has another important advantage: with its gentle exfoliation, it can significantly smooth and reduce the appearance of acne scars.

While the Spectra is extremely tough on acne, it’s amazingly gentle on the skin. In fact, it’s a no downtime, a nearly painless intervention that takes up a mere 10-20 minutes of your time. Best of all, it is clinically proven to reduce all types of active acne, prevent future breakouts, and reduce the size of pores.

The Spectra Laser peel, however, is not just for people plagued with acne. Through both the mechanical and thermal exfoliation, the Spectra Laser Peel can help you get brighter, younger-looking skin. It even stimulates the production of collagen. The Spectra can also be used to treat melasma, those unsightly brown facial patches that can arise from pregnancy, birth control pills or even just sun exposure. It has been nicknamed the “Hollywood Peel” because so many superstars use it before red carpet events.

You don’t have to be a celebrity to benefit from the Spectra Laser Peel. At Neaman MediSpa in Salem, you can receive a complimentary consultation and see if you are a candidate for the Spectra Laser Peel. Most people are indeed helped by the peel, from decreasing acne breakouts to refreshing and brightening up your complexion. Contact Neaman MediSpa at (844) 338-4445 and arrange for your appointment.

Brown Age Spots – Not Just For The Aging

09 Nov 2017 Brown Age Spots – Not Just For The Aging

Brown age spots may affect people of all skin types, but they’re more common in people with light skin. Brown age spots, also known as sun spots or liver spots are flat, oval areas of increased pigmentation. They are usually tan, brown or black and they occur on skin that has had the most sun exposure over the years, such as the backs of hands, tops of feet, face, shoulders and the upper back.

Age spots are very common in adults older than 50. But it is absolutely true that younger people can and do get them, especially if they spend a lot of time in the sun.

Brown age spots can look like cancerous growths. But true age spots are harmless and don’t require any treatment. For cosmetic reasons, age spots can be lightened with chemical techniques and products.

How To Avoid Getting Brown Age Spots

Of course, the smartest thing regarding age spots is to do all you can to avoid getting them at all. The sun is the culprit along with some genetic tendencies. However, avoiding the sun and using sunscreen is the number one way to keep your skin clear of these unsightly spots.

Treating Brown Age Spots

An in-office chemical peel can be an excellent way to send your dark spots packing. A chemical peeling, agent is applied to the skin for about 10 minutes, and then it’s removed. Depending on your skin type and the level of peeling recommended for your skin issues, the peeling agent could contain an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid, such as lactic acid, salicylic acid or glycolic acid) or a deeper level peeling agent such as TCA (trichloroacetic acid).

Downtime: Expect the skin to be red and peeling for between 1-3 weeks post procedure. You will also need to avoid sun exposure. As the skin is peeling, it will have increased photosensitivity.

Perhaps you are tired of looking at those brown age spots, and you are looking for a way to rid yourself of them once and for all. Acne Or Rosacea? Knowing The Difference

02 Nov 2017 Acne Or Rosacea? Knowing The Difference

The most common signs of rosacea are also the most common signs of acne. Plain and simply stated, this is why the two skin conditions are confused and often misdiagnosed.

Unfortunately, rosacea has many times been historically referred to as “acne rosacea.” This would, of course, make you believe that the two conditions are related. However, it is now clear that there is no connection between acne and rosacea. This has often led to some confusion by the patients, and rosacea sufferers with bumps and pimples, may well mistakenly self-diagnose themselves as having acne. The two disorders require very different treatments and acne medications may even cause rosacea symptoms to get worse.

Getting To Know Rosacea

Rosacea Areas Affected: The central area of the face, usually including the nose, chin and cheeks and sometimes forehead.

Rosacea Symptoms: Tiny dilated blood vessels become visible and create redness. Bumps and pimples appear as the inflammation and redness continues. The eyes may appear bloodshot and feel dry and gritty. Additionally, the nose may become swollen in severe cases.

Rosacea Treatments: Your skin care specialist, after careful diagnosis, can prescribe oral and or topical medications. Also, speaking to your doctor about possible lifestyle changes may help to control rosacea symptoms.

Knowing Acne

Acne Areas Affected: Acne is primarily found on the face; however, it can be active on the back, shoulders, and chest.

Acne Symptoms: The skin becomes oily due to over-active sebaceous glands. A variety of lesions develop with blackheads usually in predominance.

Acne Treatment: Prescription medications and various skin treatments are offered by your physician. A consultation with your skin care specialist will determine the best route for you to take.

At Neaman MediSpa, we are here to help. We know how frustrating and complicated the treatment of rosacea and acne can be. We have had much success with various treatments for both rosacea and acne.

Complimentary Consultations at Neaman MediSpa

Neaman MediSpa serving Salem and surrounding areas, would like to offer you a complimentary consultation to help you determine exactly which fight you are up against, and come up with a very specific plan to control and hopefully eliminate your rosacea or acne symptoms. What Is The Culprit? Aging Skin And The Enemy

19 Oct 2017 What Is The Culprit? Aging Skin And The Enemy

We hear lots of terminology when we talk about aging skin – Botox, fillers, peels, and age spots- it goes in and on. Don’t be fooled, because much of what we think of as natural aging is in fact due to sun exposure and other factors. That means aging skin can be avoided — and it’s never too late to start.

As we age, the fiber network of collagen and elastin weakens, and skin sags as it loses its support structure. Other unavoidable forces contribute to aging skin, as well. Skin becomes thinner with age and loses fat. The plump smoothness of our skin as children is replaced by a rougher texture. Gravity pulls on the weakened skin, creating the droop of jowls or “chicken fat” under the arms. Our genetic code contributes to the process – adding to skin that looks 50 at 80 in some people, and the unfortunate reverse in others.

Sun Damage Is Preventable

The skin changes associated with aging are avoidable. And most of them are due to one cause: sun damage.

The ultraviolet rays from the sun penetrate into the skin. They damage the elastic fibers that keep skin firm, allowing wrinkles to develop. The sun is also wholly responsible for age spots or “liver spots” on the hands, face, and other sun-exposed areas.

Stave off sun damage by following these bullet points:

  • Stop intentionally sunbathing. Any suntan means skin damage has occurred.
  • Always wear sunscreen. Choose a product with sun protection factor (SPF) 15 or greater. The hands and face are the most frequently exposed — cover them.
  • Wear a hat with a brim.
  • Avoid the sun between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., when its rays are the strongest.

Unfortunately, we cannot go back to our 17-year-old selves and have a do-over. So, thank goodness, that for all the mistakes we made, there are a few helpful innovations obtainable through our plastic surgeons and dermatologists. With anti-aging products, Botox and fillers we can “work with” the damage that we inadvertently did to ourselves.

Let Us Introduce You To “The Hollywood Facial”

12 Oct 2017 Let Us Introduce You To “The Hollywood Facial”
Posted at 05:34h in Hollywood Laser Peel 0 Likes

From acne to age spots, over the years our skin needs some TLC – and now with the Hollywood peel, aka the Spectra peel, our skin can breathe a sigh of relief.

Acne, the bane of 85 percent of adolescents and 30 percent of adults, has a new and powerful enemy. It’s called the Spectra Laser Peel. While the Spectra may be tough on acne, it’s amazingly gentle on your skin. In fact, it’s a no downtime, a nearly painless intervention that takes only 10-20 minutes out of your day. Best of all, it is clinically proven to reduce all types of active acne, prevent future breakouts, reduce the size of pores, lightens sun damage – and the list goes on.

How Does The Spectra Laser Work On Acne?

The Spectra Laser Peel utilizes both mechanical and thermal exfoliation to precisely remove 40 to 60 mm of tissue from the skin. It reduces sebum by disrupting its production in the sebaceous gland. FYI – sebum is that nasty stuff that clogs pores and causes breakouts.

For those patients who have suffered from severe acne, the action of the laser has yet another advantage. Through gentle exfoliation, it can significantly smooth and reduce the appearance of acne scars.

Let’s be clear – this is not just for acne sufferers. Patients without acne can benefit in a big way. Through both the mechanical and thermal exfoliation, the Spectra Laser Peel can help you get brighter, younger-looking skin. Additionally, it stimulates the production of collagen!

The Spectra can also be used to treat melasma, those unsightly brown facial patches that can arise from pregnancy, birth control pills or even just sun exposure. Some doctors call the Spectra the “Hollywood Peel” because apparently many superstars use it before red carpet events.

Hollywood Laser Peel Benefits:  Not Just For Acne

-Still not convinced it’s time to come in for a consult and more information? Let’s review some of the amazing clinical benefits of the Spectra Laser Peel– then you can decide. According to clinical tests, the Spectra:

• Reduces all types of acne

• Controls sebum production

• Shrinks large pores

• Reduces redness from inflamed acne

• Does not require the use of medication

• Reduces recurrence and inflammation

• Brightens and tightens your skin for a natural, well-rested look

• Lightens melasma and other signs of sun

How Spectra Peel Works

The laser energy works in two ways. First, it gently targets the melanin (pigmentation) in the cells breaking it up for your body’s natural removal processes. And second, it heats deep in the dermis causing the skin to contract and stimulate collagen. Because the treatment is gentle, multiple passes are needed to obtain optimal results.

Laser energy lightly removes Spectra Lotion, heating dermis and carefully ablating the top layer of dead skin. The laser energy breaks up pigment, which is then carried away by your body and heats the skin causing the skin to contract while at the same time stimulating the building of collagen.

If it doesn’t sound too good to be true already, throw in no downtime, each session takes only 20 – 30 minutes, and it is comfortable and safe.
