No one can escape the aging process; however, we’re able to slow it down and take steps to reverse its adverse effects on our bodies. A very common effect of aging comes in the form of droopy eyelids.
What Is the Blepharoplasty Procedure?
Your blepharoplasty procedure will be tailored to your specific condition, and Dr. Keith Neaman or Dr. Dustin Christiansen will discuss the specifics of your eyelid surgery with you in detail. Eyelid surgery is normally performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia, taking anywhere from one to three hours to complete. The procedure begins with an incision being made in the natural crease of the upper eyelid and lower eyelid. This allows access to the eyelid tissue. From there, excess skin is excised, and any fatty deposits are removed. The incisions are sutured shut creating a smoothing appearance to the eyelids.
