While aging is inevitable, our faces don’t have to show it. The clock can be turned back by a decade or more with a facelift. This procedure tightens the underlying tissue structures of the face and neck to define the features and achieve a sculpted, lifted, and younger-looking appearance.

While you can’t stop the aging process, a facelift can take years off your appearance. It has proven to be a life-changing cosmetic procedure giving people back the confidence to go out in public and smile. A facelift removes excess skin and pulls the remaining facial skin tight to achieve smooth, youthful contours that enhance your jawline and cheekbones. With just one procedure, you are able to achieve drastic results that reverse gravity and turn the clock back.

A facelift can achieve the following:

  • Smooth fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improve facial texture and tone
  • Reduce jowls in the lower cheek region
  • Eliminate excess skin and bands around the neck
  • Improve deep facial folds, including forehead and laugh lines

One of the biggest concerns of patients when considering a facelift is getting that “overdone” look. They’re worried that their results will look exaggerated or unnatural. However, when performed by a surgeon who understands facial anatomy and how the facial features complement each other, a facelift can achieve a rejuvenated, natural-looking appearance. Dr. Neaman and Dr. Christiansen are highly skilled at several facelift techniques and are able to achieve a rejuvenated, natural-looking final result for their patients.

A facelift can range from minor procedures, such as CO2 laser resurfacing, to significant surgery where multiple treatments are combined for optimum results, such as a facelift with a brow lift and eyelid surgery. There are two main types of surgical facelifts: a mini and a full.

At Neaman Plastic Surgery, we understand that there is no one-size-fits-all plan for our patients. Instead, our doctors collaborate with you to create a customized treatment plan specific to your unique body type and goals.

Mini Facelift

If you don’t have extensive signs of aging and your major concern is on the lower area of the face, a mini facelift may be sufficient to reach your cosmetic goals. A mini facelift lifts and tightens the cheeks and removes jowls and other bulges along the jawline and neck. A mini facelift does not require as many incisions as a full facelift, and it requires a shorter recovery period. The incisions for a mini facelift will be made along the hairline to minimize scarring. During your consultation at Neaman Plastic Surgery our surgeons can help you determine if a mini facelift is right for you.

Full Facelift

A full facelift addresses the entire facial region. It can be a rather lengthy surgery, sometimes lasting up to four to six hours depending on the extent of cosmetic work to be completed. Incisions are made in the natural crease in front of the ear, around the earlobe and behind the ear. This helps to minimize the appearance of scarring. From here, the facial skin is elevated so the underlying muscles and tissues on the face and neck can be tightened and recontoured. Excess skin is removed and the remaining skin is pulled tight and redraped back over the face to be sutured shut.

“Dr. Neaman and his staff provided excellent care before, during and after my surgery with compassion, attentive care, and professionalism.
