Cris Alba is a Certified Hand Therapist who joined Neaman Plastic Surgery in January 2016. Using specialized skills and techniques she guides her patients in regaining mobility and function following an injury, surgery or prolonged dysfunction.
Having earned her certification in 2004, Cris has gained experience in the field and truly loves her work. “Our hands are our best tools: strong, sensitive and versatile.” She also says, “I read once that unless we are looking in a mirror, the only true image we have of ourselves is seen through our hands, which to me only further emphasizes their importance in our lives.”
Born and raised in Southern California, Cris played collegiate volleyball and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry in 1984 and later a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University in 1996.
Cris was honored by becoming the second Evelyn J. Mackin hand therapy fellowship recipient at the prestigious Philadelphia Hand Center (PHC), working with world-renowned hand surgeons and therapists. She has authored a chapter in Rehabilitation of the Hand and published an article in the Journal of Hand Therapy. After three years at PHC, Cris moved to Oregon in 2001 to be closer to family.
In her free time, Cris enjoys fishing, hiking, woodworking, gardening and building with Habitat for Humanity. She also loves spending time with family, friends and her beloved animals at her home in the country.
