Sometimes, due to weight loss, breast feeding or just due to the aging process, many women, can develop breast ptosis – this condition refers to drooping breasts. While women who have mild ptosis may not be too concerned about their appearance, some women suffer from moderate to severe ptosis and seek help from a plastic surgeon. The good news is that there is a way to regain your once-perky breasts. A breast lift may be the answer to your sagging breast tissue.
There are three grades of ptosis: mild, mild to moderate, and severe. Ptosis is measured by the location of your nipples about the line where your breasts meet your chest. There are also situations where the breasts naturally sit lower on the chest. This may or may not be considered ptosis, but rather there could be asymmetry caused by areola that has been stretched out or just a genetic condition. Depending on whether or not you do have ptosis or another condition that is causing the droop, a breast lift may be considered by Dr. Neaman.
A breast lift removes excess skin and tightens the surrounding tissue to reshape the breasts. During this procedure, the nipple is also relocated to give your breasts a natural look. The result is breasts that are more aligned, giving you the appearance of younger and more “perkier” breasts.
In some cases, it is recommended that you get a breast lift and augmentation at the same time. For some women, a combined breast augmentation and lift can add volume to small breasts that are sagging or breasts that hang at different levels. Sometimes, just a breast implant can give the appearance of a lift due to the upper pole fullness it can provide.
If you’re unhappy with your sagging breasts, there is something you can do about it. A breast lift can help your breasts regain youthfulness and may help boost your self-esteem.
