Sometimes the amount of products and thousands of skin and beauty care promises can be overwhelming. They all seem to promise the same thing, the picture perfect, clear complexion that leaves your skin glowing. But there are 5 simple remedies that are probably already living in your home without a trip to a really great medical day spa. Remember, it is important to note that your lifestyle and habits are also huge predictors of how your skin will look. Lack of sleep, UV rays, Stress, Smoking, Alcohol and/or Poor nutrition are all factors that can have a lasting effect on your skin.
Apply fresh squeezed lemon juice over entire face and neck. Leave on for 10 min. Then rinse. Apply cucumber by rubbing a slice over the face to soften and moisturize. As an exfoliant, mix two teaspoons lemon juice with sugar, scrub into face in circular motion, leave on for 10 minutes and rinse with warm water.
The acid in lemon is one of the most important and one of the best ingredients you can put onto your skin. The acid helps to remove dead skin cells, while the vitamin C that is in the lemon will help to reduce dark spots by increasing cell renewal. In addition, lemon also contains bleaching properties to improve overall skin complexion.
Exfoliant to slough off dead skin cells. Mix 1 tsp. Baking soda with 1 tsp lemon juice to make a paste. Cleanse skin with paste exfoliate the skin. Rinse with warm water. Baking Soda helps to balances the ph levels of your skin to help maintain a clear complexion. It is also a mild antiseptic and anti-inflammatory to help deal with acne.
Cut a fresh cucumber into slices and rub all over face. Leave on overnight and rinse off. Cucumber contains hydrating, nourishing and astringent properties and improves the overall appearance of your skin.
Apply raw honey directly on your skin. Allow it to dry naturally and rinse with warm water. As a face mask, mix 2 Teaspoons of milk and 1 teaspoon of honey together. Add 1 tsp. Of flour and apply to face leaving on for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
Many people don’t think about it, but honey is a wonderful addition your skin care regimen as it not only helps to moisturize but it also contains a large amount of antibacterial properties.
Simply extract the gel from an aloe vera leaf, apply to your face using a cotton ball. Allow it to dry on your face for 30 minutes and rinse off with warm water. Aloe Vera is a great moisturizer and helps to promote new skin growth. In addition, it contains antibacterial properties to help fight Acne, anti-inflammatories to soothe irritated skin and astringents to aid in scar healing.
