Dermal Fillers (Injectable Fillers)

Aging results in changes in our skin that causes our skin to sag and develop fine lines, skin folds and wrinkles. A youthful face has fullness and softness in the cheeks, under the eyes, in the lips, and around the mouth. Dermal fillers (read about Sculptra) replace those lost components of healthy skin making you appear more youthful and vibrant.

What Is Restylane

After your Restylane injections, the reduction in folds, lines, and wrinkles leaves your skin looking fuller, healthier and better feeling. The exceptional value of hyaluronic based fillers such as Restylane is their capacity to grow 1,000 times its volume just from exposure to water. Even while Restylane reduces naturally, water will continue to be drawn to it. Restylane provides many advantages compared to other injections.

Restylane for moderate to severe facial wrinkles:

  • Crow’s feet
  • Nose-to-mouth folds
  • Frown lines
  • Tear Trough

Restylane for lip enhancement:

  • Thinning lips
  • Lines in lips
  • Droopy corners of mouth
  • Lip lines

The Restylane Family

Restylane is a range of hyaluronic acid-based injectable gels used for filling out wrinkles and lines or increasing fullness in lips or face. The family of products work to naturally enhance facial features, giving a long-lasting, yet non-permanent results. And with a wide-ranging use, work with Neaman MediSpa to smooth away wrinkles and fine lines, create fuller and more accentuated lips, and adding facial volume and contour. Whatever your needs are, there’s a treatment that gives the best possible results.

Restylane Products:

  • Restylane Lyft
  • Restylane Refyne
  • Restylane Defyne
  • Restylane Silk

Proven to outlast collagen injections, Restylane retains its shape utilizing moisture from the body. With little to no downtime using Restylane avoids the complications of longer lasting fat injections which also generally require more rest time.

Juvederm is a clear, hyaluronic acid based injectable filler with a high level of cross-linking. Hyaluronic acid which has been cross-linked becomes a gel rather than a liquid giving Juvederm improved structure. Naturally occurring on the skin, hyaluronic acid is a complex sugar found throughout the human body. Juvederm injection results are seen almost immediately and can last up to a year. Biodegrading of Juvederm happens naturally within the body without need for follow up procedures. Similar to Juvederm are Perlane and Restylane.

Juvederm for moderate to severe facial wrinkles:

  • Crow’s feet
  • Nose-to-mouth folds
  • Frown lines
  • Tear Trough

Lip enhancement:

  • Thinning lips
  • Lines in lips
  • Droopy corners of mouth

Radiesse is the single injectable filler available which is clinically proven to stimulate the natural production of collagen for long lasting effects that average up to a year or more. Over time the body absorbs the microspheres leaving collagen behind unlike hyaluronic acid based fillers. When compared to Perlane, up to 30% less injectable filler by volume is required when using Radiesse. Clinical studies also show that Radiesse patients often rate greater satisfaction than patients treated with hyaluronic acid injectable fillers. The calcium microspheres are close to minerals naturally occurring in the body making allergic reaction less likely.

Radiesse for moderate to severe facial wrinkles:

  • Smile Lines
  • Marionette Lines
  • Corners of the Mouth
  • Pre-Jowl Chin Wrinkles
  • Chin Wrinkles

Dermal Injectable Fillers FAQ’s

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are used to add volume to the skin. Many wrinkles on the face, such as the “marionette lines” (lines from the nose to the corner of the mouth) are caused by a loss of volume in the skin over time. Dermal facial fillers are injected into the skin to replace the volume and soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

For how long do dermal fillers last?

There are many different kinds of dermal fillers, and each tends to work well in some areas and not so well in others. These products can last anywhere from months to years. Working with Neaman MediSpa will help identify the dermal fillers that are right or your face and produce the results you desire.

What are the differences in Botox and dermal fillers?

Botox and dermal fillers like Sculptra are both injectable treatments. However, fillers differ in that they are used to “fill in” or plump up areas while Botox relaxes facial muscles. Fillers are used in soft tissue areas to restore the look of youthfulness by restoring volume as well as filling in folds and wrinkles. Botox is injected into the muscle and designed to relax the one causing the wrinkle to show.

In what areas of the face/body are fillers used?

Aside from the face to help minimize the appearance of wrinkles and folds, fillers have a long-standing record of treating a variety of conditions including hands, décolleté, knees, feet, and more.

What is Restylane?

Restylane is a widely used dermal filler made from hyaluronic acid. Restylane is a natural sugar that binds to the body’s natural store of water to enhance the skin by plumping it and smoothing it, to give it a youthful appearance. Wrinkles and creases around the lips as well as under and around the eyes are improved effectively with Restylane.

What is Juvederm?

Like Restylane, Juvederm is also made from hyaluronic acid and does all that Restylane does. However, there are two types of Juvederm: Juvederm Ultra, which is used for moderately deep facial wrinkles and to add volume to lips, while Juvederm XC is a more dense formula, used for much deeper facial folds.

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is one of the longest lasting fillers, and it also stimulates collagen growth. It smoothes wrinkles and folds and is particularly good with the deep folds, such as the “marionette lines” running from the nose to the chin.

How Dermal Fillers Help Improve Facial Aesthetics

Dermal fillers are injectables that help improve facial aesthetics including volume distribution, sharp jawline, and cheek projection. See Dr. Keith Neaman discuss how dermal fillers can enhance and restore youthful facial balance.
